I cancelled my GoDaddy web hosting account today. They were for SOPA before they were against it. I just don’t trust them.

Is anyone truly anonymous on the Internet? Doubtful. But I’ve decided to start blogging/tweeting/etc. under pseudonyms. I’ve changed the title of my tumblog accordingly. Any tips from those of you who do the same?

A question of terminology
In conversations I’ve had with people who disagree with Ron Paul’s foreign policy, I’ve come across some common threads in the arguments against him. These mainly stem from the terminology critics use to describe his policies. I hear the terms “pacifist” or “isolationist” used quite a bit. But Ron Paul advocates “non-aggression”, not...

It’s supposed to be “more personal” this way. I haven’t heard of a good (working) Netflix email in probably three years. Yeah, that seems kind of backwards and makes it less personal to me. What if I want to say more than can...

I want to write an email to Netflix asking if/when they’ll be releasing an app for the BlackBerry PlayBook. Unfortunately, it appears Netflix doesn’t want to be contacted in that manner because it’s impossible to find any kind of email address or online form on their website that would allow their customers to do so. I don’t want to call their customer service line, I want...

This is crony capitalism.
Crony capitalism - a capitalist economy in which success in business depends on close relationships between business people and government officials. They were created by Stephanie Herman and are now accompanied by links to geke.us. I did not create or...

It's here!
I just looked up the tracking number and apparently my BlackBerry PlayBook was delivered at 12:09 pm today, so it should be waiting for me when I get home from work. ^_^ My wife doesn’t want me to open it until Christmas, but I don’t think I can wait. I might do some written/video reviews and comparisons with iPad 2.

Never underestimate the power and usefulness of the Internet. Thanks to Google, I now know that Tootsie Roll Industries never had a promotion where you could receive a free Tootsie Pop by sending in a wrapper with an Indian shooting a star. It’s a rumor that’s persisted since the 1930s and nobody knows how it started. Yet I still look for that star every time.

Why I Want a BlackBerry PlayBook
Research in Motion (RIM) and its BlackBerry products seem to be the focus of ridicule and the butt of jokes across most tech blogs and publications these days. To a large degree, this negative buzz is justified. Once a pioneer and leader in the smartphone industry, and still quite popular internationally with 70 million subscribers worldwide, RIM has made several costly blunders as it struggles...

Did FDR Provoke Pearl Harbor? →
On Dec. 8, 1941, Franklin Roosevelt took the rostrum before a joint session of Congress to ask for a declaration of war on Japan. A day earlier, at dawn, carrier-based Japanese aircraft had launched a sneak attack devastating the U.S. battle fleet at Pearl Harbor. Said ex-President Herbert Hoover, Republican statesman of the day, “We have only one job to do now, and that is to defeat Japan.” ...
